Phillip Nolan

October 2, 1946 — April 7, 2026

Phillip Nolan, 79, of Butler, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026. Born to Cecil Nolan and Agnes Lawhun‑Nolan, Phillip lived a life defined by service, faith, and generosity.

Phillip proudly served in the U.S. Army’s 1st Infantry Division during the Vietnam War, where he demonstrated extraordinary courage. His bravery was recognized with two Purple Hearts, honoring the sacrifices he made for his country and his fellow soldiers.

After returning home, Phillip continued his life of service through a long career with the U.S. Post Office, where he worked faithfully until retirement. Known throughout the community for always lending a helping hand, Phillip never hesitated to support anyone who needed him. His deep faith in God guided his steps, and he was a devoted participant in many churches and Bible studies over the years.

Phillip was also a proud Freemason, upholding the fraternity’s principles of brotherly love, relief, and truth—values he lived by every day.

He loved to run, often stopping to greet people along his route—though never staying long, always moving with purpose and a warm smile.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Nolan and Agnes Lawhun‑Nolan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Christine Nolan; his brothers JC Nolan, James Nolan, and Larry Nolan.
