Mark Cochran

December 28, 1958 — May 1, 2026

Mark Howard Cochran, 67, of Parma, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on May 1, surrounded by his family, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

He was born December 28, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late William and Dorothy (Selig) Cochran. He is preceded in death by his sisters Marlene Kopper, Elaine Cochran and Joy Glassner.

Mark was an avid sportsman, craftsman, hobbyist, handyman and artist. In his younger years he raced cars, flew airplanes (and parachuted out of them), was in a barbershop quartet and was a volunteer firefighter. In his later years, he found joy in life’s quieter moments, including playing guitar, wood carving, watercolor painting, camping, cycling, kayaking, and fishing. He had a deep love for gardening and took pride in the things he grew and cared for. He also had a special passion for his model railroad display and making miniatures by hand, where his creativity and attention to detail truly came to life. For the last 20 years, before his retirement in 2024, he worked as a technical writer. A self‑proclaimed cornhole champion, he was truly a unique personality. He loved to make others laugh and was usually the smartest guy in any room. Mark was the kind of person who was always happy to lend a hand to anyone who needed it and loved to teach others his ways by passing along his handyman skills. Mark always had a smile on his face, never met a stranger and truly loved life. He was a devoted and loyal son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother‑in‑law and friend. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Erin; his son, Jesse Cochran (Joanna); his daughters, Sala Wier (Adrian) and Elizabeth Wier (Drake); and his grandsons, Brandon and Alex.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
