David “Dave” George Oelbracht, 61, of Brunswick Hills, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home under the care of his loving wife on Sunday, December 7, 2025. Born on April 21, 1964, in Cleveland, Ohio (Cuyahoga County), Dave lived a life defined by curiosity, craftsmanship, and boundless adventure.
Dave was the devoted and loving husband of Loretta Cole-Oelbracht. He was a proud father to Albert Stiver and Katy Anderson, and a cherished “Papa” to his granddaughter, Emily Anderson, who brought him endless joy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Oelbracht, Sr. and Agnes Oelbracht (née Krsacok), and by his siblings Russell Oelbracht and Kathleen “Sis” Oelbracht-Nemeth (Wayne). Dave is survived by his siblings Karen Barmess (John), Ernest “Butch” Oelbracht, Jr. (Susan), Daniel “Bud” Oelbracht (Pam), Terry Talmon (Jerry), and Rosanne Eldreth (Dan). He was also a loving uncle and cousin to many, each of whom will miss his warm presence and quick wit.
Dave lived a vibrant and multifaceted life. A world traveler, avid reader, pilot, gamer, chemist, adventurer, and master carpenter, he embodied a rare blend of intellect, creativity, and fearlessness. Whether he was exploring distant places, building with his hands, diving into a new book, or taking to the skies, Dave poured passion into everything he did.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held at The Lodge at Mapleside Farms, 294 Pearl Rd., Brunswick, Ohio, on Saturday, December 27th, from noon to 4:00 p.m. During this Christmas season, we will gather to honor both Dave’s welcoming into God’s kingdom and the birth of Jesus.
