Christopher A. Neer

Christopher Adam Neer, 65, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, after a courageous nearly three-year battle with colon cancer.

Born on August 27, 1960, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Richard and Grace Neer (both of whom preceded in his death), Chris was a cherished husband, brother, and friend.

Chris leaves behind his beloved wife, Anita Neer (Tankersley), and his sister, Jackie Neer. He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret James, and his son, Taylor Hunter.

Chris’s passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched. Those who knew Chris will remember him for his sarcastic sense of humor, his willingness to always speak his mind, and the unmistakable personality that made him uniquely Chris. He was also a devoted fan of his favorite football team, the Denver Broncos.

While his passing brings sadness, Chris’s loved ones ask that he be remembered not for the way his life ended, but for the way he lived it—the memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the impact he had on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

Rather than gathering only to mourn his passing, his family invites friends and loved ones to join together to celebrate Chris’s life, share memories, tell stories, and remember the man he was.
